It is easy to get to Cameron Highlands from Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh. To Malaysians, it is a great place for a short trip as they can enjoy a break from the hot weather in other parts of Malaysia, Moreover, it is the best place to taste strawberries and to stock up on tea.
Steamboat is another specialty of Cameron Highlands as the steaming hot food coupled with the cool weather, particularly at night, makes for a great combination. Many restaurants serve steamboat. For those who are staying in apartments, an option would be to purchase ingredients at the Kea Farm or night markets and to prepare their own steamboat later in the evening.
Variety of Agricultural Products
Due to the cool weather here, many plants grow well in Cameron Highlands. These include flowers like roses and Malaysia's national flower, the hibiscus. There are also many vegetable farms on the highlands.
Besides that, Cameron Highlands is also famous for its many tea plantations where you can learn more about the tea-making process and also just enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Cameron Highlands has lots to offer and is definitely worth a visit. However, if possible, try to avoid weekends and public holidays as there might be bottlenecks due to the traffic jams, particularly near the Kea Farm area. Parking would be another headache.
If you do visit, remember to purchase strawberries as snacks on the way back home!

Love the Cameron Highlands, especially the Indian food available in the main street of Tanah Rata - tandoori chooks cooked in traditional ovens out the front and all that. Did you find that umbrellas and strawberry shops were everywhere in CH?

My best memories of Cameron Highlands were the stars that you can see at night. The air was so clear that you can see so many stars. On one exceptionally clear night, I think I actually saw the Milky Way. :)
